A pilates studio built on ten years of passion, practice, and community.
Our Pilates story
Vicky Evans, founder of The Pilates Room, has been part of this local community since 2014. What began as a small home studio grew steadily, through word of mouth and the simple loyalty of clients who kept coming back and bringing people with them, into the thriving studio it is today.
Over the years, she has had the privilege of supporting hundreds of clients on their wellbeing journeys. Beginners nervous about their first class. Clients rebuilding strength after injury or surgery. Older adults who have found real confidence and independence in their movement. Every story is different, and being part of each one is what drives us.
We are now stepping into an exciting new chapter: a beautiful, dedicated studio space that reflects everything this community has grown to be.
More room, more light, and the same warmth and quality of teaching that has always been at the heart of what we do.
Meet the studio team
Vicky Evans. Founder and Lead TeacherBefore retraining as a Pilates teacher, Vicky spent many years as a producer in the corporate events industry, managing large-scale global productions. After taking time to raise her family, she followed a long-standing passion for health and movement and retrained professionally in Pilates.
Having practised Pilates herself for over 20 years, Vicky experienced first-hand the difference it makes, not just physically but for balance, confidence, and overall quality of life. That experience is the foundation for everything she teaches.
Vicky trained at Pilates in Motion with Anoushka Boone, one of the UK's most respected Pilates educators, and continued her advanced study under Lisa Bradshaw. She is now an established and sought-after teacher of Matwork, Reformer, and Studio Pilates, as well as a co-founder of The Pilates School and an accredited YMCA Awards teacher trainer.
Her teaching style is calm, intuitive, and deeply personal. She loves helping people of all ages and abilities move better, feel stronger, and rediscover what their bodies are capable of in a space that is genuinely welcoming.
Becky Russell. Studio ManagerBecky is the Studio Manager at The Pilates Room - Grayshott and has been part of the local Pilates community for the last ten years. Passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment, she plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the studio, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly for both clients and teachers alike.
Her role covers all aspects of studio operations, from client support and scheduling to marketing, communications and the financial side of the business. Becky loves being part of a team that helps people feel stronger, more confident and more connected through movement.
With more than 18 years of administration experience and a BA (Hons) in Business Administration, Becky brings a calm, organised and professional approach to everything she does. Her attention to detail and friendly nature make her a trusted point of contact for both new and existing clients.
Outside of her managerial role, Becky is also a regular at the studio herself and is completely passionate about Pilates and the positive impact it can have on both body and mind. She firmly believes Pilates is for everybody and loves seeing clients grow in confidence and strength on their own journeys.
